    when i was 18, my younger brother brad and i went to kelly’s island to ‘camp’, brought along karl and his now wife deb. we took the ferry over and ended up at an abandoned airport, just sitting there, all of us tripping balls, and the cops come. like, the only cops. and they search the car and find the one gram of actually great Jamaican weed, and our bong. so they arrest ME cause it was our car and i was 18, brad who admitted the weed and bong were his got off cause he was 17. so they put me in the back of the car, and remember, i am on two hits of acid. so we go to the cop station, my tripping balls brother and our friends following, and the cops say, holding up the bong, ‘i hear if you put wine in these, it gives you a better buzz. is that true son? ‘

    that was a nice thing to say. what i think needs to happen? SInce white men no longer have a monopoly on slices of the economic pie, but now have to share that finite pie with everyone else, the only solution to this i can see, without violence on their part, is UBI. I get SSI to live on. WHat if everyone was on SSI? Here in cleveland I live fairly well on it. I know it’s not a lot of money, so if SSI is your only income, you won’t be able to have all the neato toys and baubles people want, without realizing the more you have, the less free you are? Paralyzed by their possessions. In my view, if you want those thingies, you can work to gain more. I think food and shelter and healthcare are rights, basic rights, and should be provided to all.

    Expanding rights for marginalized folks does not mean anyone is taking your rights away. It just levels the playing field.

    That seems to be a big part of the problem here.

    I was predicting a landslide for Kamala and I could not have been more wrong. I think that view was predicated on similar, if not increased, turnout. It was the opposite. The turnout was horrible.

    So why was that?

    Men are in a bad place in our society right now. They have been for some time. This goes beyond class or gender.

    Many feel that they are going down the tubes, more substance abuse, fentanyl in all the street drugs, suicide rising like crazy. Our society is failing men. How can this be fixed?

    Masculinity is now almost a dirty word. It’s a little crazy.

    Look, I am an advocate for equal rights for all. Trans people, gay people, women, I want to live in a world where noone is abused or discriminated against. Just cause I may be smarter than you, doesn’t mean I get to take advantage of you.

    I think a shit-ton of men see women making gains, see rights expanding for everyone, but them. I totally get this. They are not wrong. Toxic masculinity is not as prevalent as some may make it seem. Most guys are just regular guys. I am one of those.

    I don’t really know where I am going with this. I’m sort of a confused mess right now, I’m grasping at straws, trying to figure it all out.

    My tribe perhaps has gotten to strident, too self righteous; the Me-Too movement was a good thing of course, but it also cast men as the enemy when they are not. The huge mass of men out there are well, great guys. The problem is not with them, but with the subset who are dicks. But we all get lumped together. There are some things that happen now because of the internet that are just counterproductive.

    PC culture has gotten out of hand. Noone should lose their jobs because they make some sexist statements, racist statements, what have you. Trans women in women’s sports is just ludicrous on the surface. But, if women athletes are on board with it, I guess I am too. Perhaps gender is fluid, I don’t get all the pronouns stuff, but hey, I’ll be polite about it.

    I also don’t get the current fashions, all the metal in people’s bodies, the tattooing of every inch of skin, the war against hair. It’s silly to me.

    Do I get OFFENDED over it though? Um, no. Not my thing, don’t find it attractive personally, but it’s your body. Do what thou wilt. Up to you.

    It is NOT ok though, for me to abuse people because they are different than me. By the same token though, people have gotten way too sensitive. Choose your battles. Yes, privilege is bad, again, the equal rights thing. But it doesn’t mean that all men are sexist. It doesn’t mean men, white men, are all The Enemy.

    PEOPLE ARE ALL THE SAME. Immigrants are coming here, as they always have, because they want to be here! They want safety, they want food security. They are not likely to screw that up by breaking the rules. My forebears didn’t, though some yes joined the Mafia.

    Does it mean that all Italians are gangsters?

    Does Trump winning mean it’s the end of America? NO.

    Does it mean that people are sick and tired of the status quo? YES.

    The Dems kind of shot themselves in the foot by not recognizing this. The Liz Cheneys supporting Kamala might have seemed great on the surface, but it backfired. It turned out to be not a good thing. Because it just showed that Dems just want more of the same.

    Bernie Sanders put it perfectly in his statement. I love Bernie. I voted for him twice, but I got in line behind Hillary and Biden and Kamala. He represents me. They really do not.

    We need to figure this all out. The details in how to do this are frankly beyond me. I’m a big picture guy, not one to dig into the minutiae of exactly how to do it. I have no clue, I just know it needs to be done. People feel they are sinking, not rising. We can fix this. We can ALL prosper.

    Hey I’m a double scorpio bipolar II empath. I take on the weight of the world because I feel other’s pain. It hurts me to see others struggle. I want to help. I like to make people happy, to brighten their day, to me this is the highest form of existence. It makes ME FEEL GOOD>

    It is not looking good as I write this at um…3:12am on November 6th.

    It turned out much much closer than I expected, at the moment no winner has been announced, but trump is just a few more votes away. They are sure celebrating.

    My thoughts?

    Maybe it was the wrong strategy to hammer the ‘democracy is under threat and we are going to have a dictatorship if we don’t win’ message so much. Cause honestly, I think that is hysteria. I feared it would blow up, and It looks like I was right. I had faith in the innate goodness of americans, but we have made the wrong choice.

    Ah well. C’est la vie! Don’t mean to sound flippant, this is not good, but it is not the end of the America. Relax. Don’t blow a gasket, Don’t panic,

    and my god, don’t prove the righties correct about us liberals. Maybe we have gone too far in the culture wars. In their eyes, we are promoting ‘perversion’ and forcing it down their throats. I get that.

    BUT…go ahead and be repulsed if you must, the whole entire point of it all is equal rights, you can’t abuse or discriminate against ANYONE> you can feel and think whatever you like, but expect some pushback if you are a dick in public.

    All I can do at this point is what I can do. Try and speak the truth as I see it.

    Live my life and try and be an example for others. Lead that way.

    We shall see what the future brings. This is a major disappointment but not the end of America. At least not yet. They are probably going to win control of the entire government. It looks that way. They will attempt to ram through their frankly religious agenda. They will try and undo everything Biden has accomplished. We shall see if they succeed, no one can know what the future will be.

    I am sad. I am not going to wallow in despair over this though. I can’t. It might kill me. Despair can kill me.

    I just took my O2 readings, 97%, and my pulse is at a speedy 106. I just took soma Gaba to try and get that down a bit.

    I’ll tell you what I am going to do. I am not going to give in to hate myself when the other side seems to just delight in it. It’s their souls that are at risk. I am going to sleep well at night, I am going to continue to be a good friend and a good father.

    Ok here we go. Thunder and Lightning outside, I was awakened by the storm at 1:30am, and I couldn’t fall back asleep. Maybe the Guardians win yesterday pushed me into hypomania, could be. Shit like that can happen.

    First thing to go is sleep. I end up bouncing in my seat like a middle school shlub with a rock-hard woody in gym class.

    I might not need sleep for 2 or 3 days, or at least not much. And believe me, I am a demi-god in that state. I can do anything.

    I don’t think so though. I’m fine. I just might have to switch to third shift for a while. I prefer that actually; I like the night. No traffic, no noise, no car exhaust.

    So, we’ll see, won’t we? I don’t have a choice in the matter.

    Today is Sunday, and this is my first blog post directly to my website, without first writing it in LiveJournal. Yeah, I know I know, its’ older than dirt, and now owned by the Russians. It’s hard to break old habits.

    But here I am and I’m going to try.

    If you are wondering just who the fuck I am, I cannot at least at this point toot my own horn. I can’t distill my essence into a few lines and symbols. Just know that I am a very well-kept secret.

    You’ll figure it out as time moves on and you get to know me. This is just the beginning of a great adventure, to quote Lou Reed. I have blogs, private up to this point, from 2009 to the present. I will wade through them and copy and paste this thing into some semblance of a narrative.

    There are adventures. There are quirky characters, including your humble narrator. There is a love story. There are a lot of drugs, at least at first.

    A lot of politics, of the left-wing sort. A lot of opinion, up to this point only blabbed to friends on various online resources.
